Emanuel "Dupree" Jackson, Jr.

Founder/Executive Director

Emanuel “Dupree” Jackson, Jr. was born and raised in Delray Beach, Florida. He has worked with youth and children for most of his career and holds a passion for connecting with at-risk
youth to help them tap into their strengths. After graduating from Boca Raton High School, Dupree attended Hibbing Community College where he obtained his Associate of Arts degree. From there he received a full athletic scholarship to North Dakota State University where he studied Communication and minored in Psychology. Upon his return to Delray Beach, Dupree noticed that the community’s youth needed more
mentors. The idea for the Emmanuel Jackson Senior (EJS) Project was birthed. The EJS Project is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization that focuses on changing the perception &
aspirations of local youth through mentorship and positive interventions.Though institutionally prepared and accomplished, he learned early that sustainable solutions to marginalized community challenges exist within the people, associations and organizations in those communities. In-depth relationship building is necessary to bridge gaps and connect
people. Through intentional engagement and inclusion a connected community emerges.

Lloyd Webber

Board Member

Mr. Webber is a highly respected 28+ year veteran of the mobile, wireless and personal computing industry. Most recently, he is working in the field of ultrasound biometric fingerprint technology focused on smartphones and medical uses. Mr. Webber is a visionary leader who has conducted business around the world for Motorola, Inc., Sega Corp., and IBM Corp. He has successfully penetrated previously untapped market niches and created a national presence for companies. He has been intimately involved with groundbreaking innovations in hardware and software to include developing and shipping the RAZR 2, the first 3G handset and a two-way paging device. Mr. Webber is originally from Washington, D.C., but has lived in Delray Beach for the past 24+ years. A graduate of Earlham College with a BA in Business Management and completed IBM’s sales training school.

Sara Selznick, Ph.D

Board Member

Sara Selznick, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist. She graduated with a BA in Psychology from the University of Florida and received her Master's and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from DePaul University in Chicago. Sara completed her fellowship at Harvard Medical School/Children's Hospital Boston and has provided services and developed, delivered, and evaluated programs and interventions in many settings including hospitals, schools/ after-schools, juvenile detention centers, and community mental health agencies. Before moving to Delray Beach she worked in Chicago’s Cabrini Greene Public Housing Community for 10 years providing direct services and supervising a community outreach and advocacy team.  Recognizing the impact of systemic racism and the importance of power (not just programs), Sara left the direct service world to work on community capacity building initiatives as co-founder of Thrive. 

Venette Pierre

Board Member

Venette Pierre is a lifelong Floridian. A graduate of the University of Central Florida with a degree in Public Relations, Venette currently as the Director of Community Impact at Thrive Collective. In this role, Venette manages the community facing iniatives that support local economic mobility. 

Venette's background includes working in marketing for a global travel firm as well as initiating digital marketing campaigns to generate revenue.  Venette also worked in the healthcare field providing administrative support to providers and creating initiatives to help prioritize patient-provider relations. After working in inpatient healthcare, Venette decided she wanted to take a more proactive approach to assisting families in low income areas access education and resources. 

A big believer in education equality, Venette hopes to continue to actively support parents in advocating for their child’s education needs despite barriers. Venette hopes to empower natural talents in the community with the skills and resources they need to pursue entrepreneurship as a career choice.  

Kristyn Cox

Board Member

Beginning in traditional systems instituted for community development, Kristyn’s career started in an organized community in Delray Beach, Florida. She learned about the historically black community’s resistance to gentrification and their advocacy for access to opportunity and resources. Nothing made sense… She was regularly questioned on her loyalty to the government agency she was employed by and the community she was responsible for serving. It was the collective training she received from the Racial Equity Institute (REI) on systematic oppression and institutionalized racism; the power of community assets and capacity from the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) Institute; and systems change by deepening community through collective impact by the Tamarack Institute - that validated her perception of the disempowerment of people by systems, particularly in communities of color. Kristyn followed the community’s lead by organizing stakeholders and gatekeepers around equitable development and policies by refacing the community’s neighborhood redevelopment plan with Power Principles including: Civic Stewardship, Community Capacity Building, and Community Wealth Building. It was thru this work and while serving as Co-Chair for Healthier Delray Beach, a collective impact initiative around behavioral health change in the community, that she met like-minded change-agents, transformational leaders, that now drive the work of Thrive.

Kene Pamphile

Youth Board Member

Kene Promaphile is a first generation Haitian American student and lifelong Delray Beach resident. He currently attends Atlantic Community High School. He was chosen to be EJS Project's Youth Board Member based on his academic excellence, his ability to take initiative and his involvement in his school and community. Kene also operates his own business called Culinary Magnet Marketing, which is a Palm Beach County based online marketing agency specializing in digital design, branding, SEO, PPC, marketing automation, graphic display, adwords campaigns and Facebook ads. He is currently a member of Key Club Global Student Volunteer Cooperation and Take Stock in Children’s College Prep and Mentoring Program.

During the summer of 2019, Kene interned at 2TON through the EJS Project Purpose Pays Program. He was able to master professional skills such as branding, advertising, web design and development, photography and video production. Kene enjoys playing basketball in his free time and after graduation plans to attend either UCF, FAU, or FIU and major in Business Administration.

Marcus Darisaw

Program Coordinator

Marcus Darrisaw was born and raised in Delray Beach, Florida. He attended college for two years at Hibbing Community College with Founder, Emanuel Dupree Jackson Jr., then earned a scholarship to Savannah State University where he graduated with his Bachelors Degree in English. Mr. Darrisaw  always desired to give back to the community like his parents, James Darrisaw and Tia Dobard and his grandfather, Reginald Dobard Sr. After college, he moved back home to work as a teacher working at Boynton High School and West Boca High School. Along with teaching, he also coaches various sports and previously served as a Teen Director for an afterschool program. He continues to aim to inspire kids to go beyond their limits and never to settle for anything less than what they are able to achieve. Mr. Darrisaw wants to see change in the community and strives to help our youth make their dreams become a reality. He joined the EJS Project to help the organization reach it’s greatest potential by providing a consistent place for teens for support and guidance.

Sara Keeler

Youth Program Assistant

Sarah Keeler currently serves as the Youth Program Assistant at the EJS Project. Sarah is responsible for implementing donor management software, tracking community engagement and volunteer activity, assisting with fundraising events and campaigns, creating and distributing quarterly newsletter and building positive relationships with enrolled teens. Prior to moving to Delray Beach, Sarah was a social worker at the Association to Benefit Children, a New York City based nonprofit. During this time, she conducted on-site crisis intervention, broad-based mental health screening, individual and group therapy, and capacity-building training for faculty and parents in five New York City middle schools. Sarah graduated Touro College with a Master’s in Social Work and received her Bachelor’s from Manhattan College in Communication with a minor in Sociology. She plans to pursue a career in nonprofit management.
